Tasting visits are available by prior appointment Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We offer three experiences designed for your enjoyment — The Terrace View Tasting, The Private Collectors Experience, and The Hillside Select Experience.
To celebrate the holidays and New Year, during the months of December and January all tasting guests will be greeted with a glass of Billecart-Salmon Champagne.
The Terrace View Tasting offers the opportunity to take in the sights of the surrounding hillside vineyards, along with the incredible views of Napa Valley and Stags Leap District. Guests enjoy a relaxing experience featuring a line-up of Shafer’s current releases, including Hillside Select, paired with a selection of cheese and charcuterie.
The Private Collectors Experience is hosted in Shafer’s stellar private tasting salon or private vineyard suite. In this experience, guests enjoy a full lineup of current wines, along with a library vintage of Hillside Select. These wines are paired with an elevated selection of cheese and charcuterie.
Our most luxurious private experience focuses exclusively on Hillside Select. Your visit begins with Billecart Salmon Champagne and Regiis Ova caviar before boarding a Polaris Ranger vehicle for a private tour of the estate. You will taste the current vintage of Hillside Select in the heart of the vineyard featuring breathtaking views of Stags Leap District. Your visit culminates with a private seated tasting of three rare library selections of Hillside Select showcasing our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon at 5+ years old, 10+ years old and 20+ years old.
